Marin Transit is holding a series of public workshops to solicit input from residents in Northern Marin on service changes to Routes 49, 51, 52 and 259. Come and hear about plans and proposals to improve local transit service in Novato.

Local Novato transit service improvements were identified in the Novato Transit Needs Assessment, which concluded in August of 2011. Marin Transit is proposing to move forward with the following service-related improvements: consolidating local fixed Route 51 and 52 services, increasing peak hour frequency and span of service on the new Route 51, and extending Route 49 to Downtown Novato.

All workshops will be held from 4pm - 6pm at the following dates and locations:

  • Thursday, December 1 at Novato City Hall (901 Sherman Ave, Novato)
  • Monday, December 5 at Hamilton Community Center (503 Palm Dr, Novato)
  • Tuesday, December 6 at Terra Linda Community Center (670 Del Ganado Rd, San Rafael)
  • Wednesday, December 7 at Marinwood Community Center (775 Miller Creek Rd, San Rafael)

Residents are urged to participate to ensure that the service changes best meets their needs, to learn about the proposed improvements, and the services that Marin Transit provides.

In addition to the upcoming December workshops, the Marin Transit Board of Directors will hold a public hearing at 10:00am on Monday, December 19 in the Board of Supervisors’ Chambers at the Marin County Civic Center.
